Mary Devereux is the only Board Certified Family Law Specialist, who is running for Judge of Division K, one of two new dedicated Family Law divisions.
Mary, a graduate of Tulane Law School, has had a successful 20 year law practice devoted to all aspects of Family Law. Mary's expertise includes but is not limited to divorce, child custody and support, spousal support, pre-marital agreements, community property, adoption, mediation, collaborative divorce, child in need of care, and non support through the juvenile jurisdiction of the courts.
Mary was instrumental in bringing Family Law Specialization to Louisiana and served as the Co-Chairman of the founding committee for Family Law Specialization Certification in the state. Additionally, she served as the Chairman of the Commission for Family Law Certification for two terms and is currently on the Family Law Council for the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Her dedication to the construct of a family court in St. Tammany is unequaled by any other candidate in this race.
While in Law school, Mary received the American Jurisprudence Award for criminal law. She also has advanced training in family law mediation and collaborative divorce.
In her spare time, she is a percussionist in the Slidell Youth and Community Orchestra.
She resides in Slidell with her family.
